Discovery Studio is OpenBlockAI's data discovery and compliance readiness platform. It continuously scans your systems to find personal data, classifies it, maps it to processing purposes and vendors, and turns the findings into audit-ready RoPA, DPIA and evidence records. Instead of a one-time assessment, it stays current as your systems and vendors change, so your data inventory, risk register and governance records don't go stale between audits.

Two scanners cover both structured and unstructured data. Schema Scanner connects to databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and inspects table and column structures to identify personal and sensitive fields. Endpoint Scanner scans files, email and cloud repositories (Google Drive, Microsoft 365, IMAP, AWS S3, local file systems) for unstructured personal data. Both feed the same central inventory, so you get one connected view regardless of where the data actually lives.

Discovery finds where personal data lives; classification determines what kind of data it is and how sensitive it is. Discovery Studio classifies every discovered field into categories such as identity, contact, financial or behavioural data as it's found, then connects each classified attribute to a processing purpose and, where relevant, a vendor or processor in the Attribute Canvas.

Yes. Processing records (RoPA) are generated directly from discovered data, mapped purposes and data flows, so you're not documenting them by hand from scratch. High-risk processing is flagged automatically and can trigger a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA), with risk scoring and remediation recommendations built into the same workflow.

Every attribute that reaches a vendor or processor is mapped in the Attribute Canvas, alongside the processing purpose, legal basis, and the vendor's DPA/review status, so you can see at a glance which vendors hold what data and where a review is outstanding. Vendor risk items, like an outdated sub-processor list, flow into the same risk register as your other findings instead of living in a separate spreadsheet.
